I was honored to have been invited to the #worldeconomicforum at #davos this week as a speaker-panelist on “The Missing Trillions: Root Causes.” Davos proved to be an exhilarating and unforgettable experience.
– Throughout the event, there was a profound acknowledgment of the crucial link between health and climate & nature. Engaging discussions delved into groundbreaking solutions aimed at unlocking essential capital.
– One standout focus was on Mental Health and Wellness, recognized as one of the fastest-growing sectors globally. The emergence of new ventures in Behavioral Health, spanning transformative diagnostics, biomarkers, and holistic multi-modal therapeutics, underscored the demand for rapid, scalable solutions. These endeavors address critical aspects such as access to care, key performance metrics, and the infusion of crucial capital.
– A recurring theme echoed the importance of ethical and fair use of AI & GenAI. Emphasis was placed on best practices/capabilities/talent necessary to accelerate adoption and unlock the significant value potential across industries.
– Sustainability took center stage, with discussions highlighting how companies dedicated to designing for sustainability can expedite value creation, increase their competitiveness, including realize their goals for a net-zero economy.
– The spotlight also shone on creative ways to unlock capital for hard tech, emphasizing private sector and investor value chains as critical funding mechanisms for accelerating execution. Notably, there was a mention of up to 70% IRR potential when these strategies are executed effectively.
In essence, the week in Davos was dedicated to exploring the art of the possible in matters crucial to business, society, and the planet—an ongoing agenda that promises transformative impact.
